Australia Day at Docklands

At Harbour Esplanade, Docklands (in Cow up a Tree Precinct) learn how to fish from expert fishers.  There are free children's fishing rods to be given away (limited stocks, for children aged 5 - 16 years only), and fishing rods, bait and tackle available for hire for up to 1 hour (11am - 4pm).

Take part in the Great Aussie Thong Throwing competition with fantastic prizes to be won (12 noon - 1pm).

Enjoy a Great Aussie Sausage Sizzle with Woolworths (with donations to Royal Children's Hospital, from 11am - 3pm).

Ionic Australian confectionary maker Darrell Lea will be celebrating its revival and the nation’s birthday by giving away green and gold liquorice!   Made in Australia especially for the occasion, the soft eating green and gold liquorice features refreshing pineapple and green apple flavours.   

Enjoy the roving entertainment around the Docklands precinct to make for a great Australian family day out:
11am - 4pm - Justin the Pirate                 
11.15am - 12 noon -  Wacky's roving
12 noon - 4pm - Chansie the Clown      
1pm - 3pm -Hooddo Mayhem New Orleans Brass Band

At the Piazza on New Quay make a free kite and embrace the Docklands sea breeze from 12pm - 3pm, and at Harbour Town enjoy an animal farm, Australian Bush Babies and Cow Milking with Branding the Cow.

To visit Docklands, catch the FREE city circle tram, FREE Tourist Shuttle Bus, Tram 70 via Flinders Street, 48 via Collins Street or 86 via Bourke Street or take advantage of more than 5000 car parking spaces available.
